City Council welcomes the opportunity to recognize exceptional events within the City of Colorado Springs. A request for a proclamation must be made at least one month prior to the date requested. The majority of proclamations are issued for presentation by groups at community events. On occasion, City Council may choose to present a proclamation at a Regular Meeting of City Council. Please read the Proclamation Guidelines below before making a request.

Proclamation Guidelines

Proclamations are keepsake documents signed by the President of City Council. They are issued for the following:

  • To promote local art and cultural celebrations
  • To raise public awareness of local issues that impact community health and safety

Proclamations will not be issued for:

  • Campaigns or events contrary to City policies
  • Events or organizations with no direct relationship to the City of Colorado Springs
  • For-profit causes
  • Pending ballot or legislative issues

Additional Guidelines
