The City Council of Colorado Springs is calling upon passionate individuals to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our vibrant city. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to serve on various Boards, Commissions, and Committees essential to our community's growth and development.

Opportunities for Involvement:

Downtown Review Board

Do you have a keen eye for urban development and design? The Downtown Review Board is responsible for reviewing downtown development applications using the Downtown Colorado Springs Form-Based Code regulating plan.

Meeting Time: Eight days prior to the 2nd Thursday of every month at 8:30 a.m.

Vacancy: One representative from the Planning Commission.

Fire Board of Appeals

Committed to ensuring fire safety in our community? The Fire Board of Appeals hears and decides appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations made by the fire code officials or his/her designee regarding the application and interpretation of the currently adopted International Fire Code.

Meeting Time: Every 2nd Friday of each month at 8:30 a.m.

Vacancies: One large business member, One representative from a building contractor A, B, or C

Public Arts Commission

Are you an advocate for creativity and cultural enrichment? Join the Public Arts Commission and help shape the artistic landscape of Colorado Springs. As a member, you will evaluate, advocate, and facilitate initiatives that celebrate our city’s vibrant culture.

Meeting Time: Every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m.

Vacancies: Three individuals with expertise or backgrounds in the following areas:

  • Southern Colorado American Institute of Architects
  • Arts Education
  • Pikes Peak Art Council Representative

Stormwater Advisory Committee

Passionate about environmental stewardship? Join the Stormwater Advisory Committee to advise on vital stormwater system operations and enterprise management.

Meeting Time: 3rd Thursday of February, May, August, and November at 2 p.m.

Vacancies: One resident representative, One expert in commercial property, One member from a public institution, One representative from a local nonprofit
